About Kimia
Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Kimia Ghaderi is Assistant Principal Second Violin of the Grand Rapids Symphony. She has performed with orchestras including The Cleveland Orchestra, Naples Philharmonic, Pittsburgh Symphony, and Akron Symphony, and was soloist with the Grand Rapids Symphony on multiple occasions. She served as Guest Concertmaster of the Ashland Symphony (OH), Youngstown Symphony (OH), and Vermont Mozart Festival Orchestra. Ghaderi has collaborated at chamber music festivals throughout the United States and in the Dominican Republic, Quebec, Austria, Italy, and China. A dedicated violin instructor, she has served on the faculty of schools including Interlochen Summer Arts Academy and currently has a thriving private studio in Grand Rapids. Ghaderi earned her Bachelor of Music degree from Rice University and her Master of Music degree at the Cleveland Institute of Music.
