About Eric
Eric Tanner is the Principal Second Violin of the Grand Rapids Symphony and has appeared as soloist with the orchestra numerous times. Previously he held positions with the Florida Philharmonic, the New Orleans Symphony and the Springfield (Mass.) Symphony Orchestra. He studied at the Eastman School of Music and received BM and MM degrees from the University of Massachusetts and the Manhattan School of Music. Tanner served as Artist-Faculty Instructor of Violin at Grand Valley State University from 1999 to 2011. Currently, he performs throughout Michigan in the Perugino String Quartet and appears with several summer music festivals around the country including the Sunflower Music Festival in Topeka, Kansas and the Buzzards Bay MusicFest in Marion, Massachusetts.
