Hannah Thomas-Hollands, cello
Hannah Thomas-Hollands, originally from the Washington DC area, joined the cello section of the Grand Rapids Symphony in 2014. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music in 2012, earning the Dean’s Award for undergraduate achievement and a minor in economics from Case Western Reserve University. In 2014, she graduated with a Master’s degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX, having won her position in the Grand Rapids Symphony earlier that year. In addition to her work here in west Michigan, Hannah also performs regularly with the Dallas Symphony and often joins them for their summer residency at the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival in Colorado. Hannah was featured as a soloist at Carnegie Hall in 2008 at the age of 17 and has also performed at Symphony Hall in Boston, the Kennedy Center, Severance Hall, and the Blossom Music Center alongside the Cleveland Orchestra.
