Stephanie Hovnanian, clarinet
Stephanie Hovnanian is currently the Adjunct Assistant Professor of Clarinet at Western Michigan University, where she has been teaching since 2010. She is also an active orchestral musician and chamber music enthusiast. She is a member of the West Michigan Symphony Orchestra and the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra, and performs regularly with the Grand Rapids Symphony. Professor Hovnanian was on faculty at the InterHarmony International Music Festival in Italy in 2014. Prior to moving to Michigan, she was a member of the New World Symphony and the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. Stephanie earned her Master’s Degree in Clarinet Performance from DePaul University, where she studied with Larry Combs. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the Eastman School of Music, where she studied under the instruction of Kenneth Grant.
