Jonathan Bading: Young Artists Program Intern
Born and raised in Fairfax, VA, Jonathan’s earliest musical memories consist of him turning pages for his father at the organ and singing in his mother’s children’s choir. Jonathan is now a rising junior at Hope College, pursuing a degree in Organ Performance with a concentration in Music History and Theory. He studies organ with Huw Lewis, voice with Linda Dykstra, and conducting with Brad Richmond. He is a recipient of the Ruth Haidt Hughes Scholarship in Organ Performance and the Marie Blauwkamp Organ Scholarship. He is a Mellon Scholar at Hope as well, a program funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation for the promotion of interdisciplinary research in the Arts and Humanities. After receiving a summer research grant from the Mellon Scholars Program, Jonathan will be doing research on medieval liturgical manuscripts in Vendôme, France this June.
In his free time (what a concept!), Jonathan enjoys reading and writing poetry, engaging the French cinema, and watching Washington Capitals hockey.
