Megan Crawford · violin
Violinist, Megan Reiter Crawford, came to West Michigan in 1999 when she joined the Grand Rapids Symphony. Ms. Crawford received her Bachelor of Music degree with honors from the University of Michigan, where she studied with Paul Kantor. She then went on to graduate from the Manhattan School of Music with her Master of Music degree, where she worked with Michael Gilbert, Patinka Kopec, Isidore Cohen and Pinchas Zukerman. She has been the recipient of numerous awards and has been a prizewinner in several national and international competitions. She has been a featured soloist with many orchestras, most recently including the Grand Rapids Symphony, under the direction of David Lockington, and the Greater Lansing Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Timothy Muffit. She has remained active as a chamber musician appearing throughout Michigan regularly while juggling her full time symphony job, teaching privately, and raising her four young children with her husband, James Crawford.
