Lora Kolean · Piano
Lora Clark Kolean, piano, completed her Master’s Degree at Western Michigan University where she studied with Lori Sims. She also studied with Joan Conway at Hope College and with Fabio Bidini at Accademia Musicale Umbra in Perugia, Italy. Lora teaches Class Piano, Applied Piano, and serves as Staff Accompanist at Hope College, and maintains a private studio in her home. She has been a finalist in Kalamazoo’s Bach Competition and won twice the Hope College Concerto Competition, along with receiving the Kate Garrod Post Education Fund Scholarship through the Women’s Literary Club of Holland and achieving Summa cum Laude at Hope College. She also won first place at the Michigan Music Teacher’s Association competition. Lora has worked with various well-known artists in master classes and summer festivals, and has performed solo and chamber works recently with the Hope College Symphonette, at the Herrick District Library Concert Series, on the Hope College Faculty Recital Series and Brown Bag series, and in the Chamber Music Festival of Saugatuck. She is a member of Holland’s Amici Trio.
