Lauren Garza · Viola

Lauren Garza, viola, received her Doctorate of Musical Arts in performance from Michigan State University in 2007, where she studied with Robert Dan. She received her Masters degree in performance from Michigan State as well; and her Bachelors degree from Hope College where she studied with Mihai Craioveanu. Lauren is an active orchestral performer. She is currently the principal violist of the Holland Symphony Orchestra. She is a member of the Lansing Symphony Orchestra and the West Shore Symphony Orchestra. She freelances in the West Michigan area and plays regularly on the Herrick Library Chamber Music Series. Lauren has a private studio of viola students, and has conducted viola sectionals for schools in the Holland area. Lauren is currently the general manager of the Holland Symphony Youth Orchestras. This is Lauren’s first time playing with the Chamber Music Festival of Saugatuck.
